Brookneal, Va. — A Virginia lumber supply company founded in 1905 is recognizing 115 years in business, but not celebrating just yet. Williams Lumber Supply of Brookneal, now moving into its fourth generation, has postponed an anniversary celebration until fall, due to COVID-19.
“I always say anyone can sell something once, but your business is built on repeat customers,” Joe Lunsford, owner of Williams Lumber Supply, told ABC 13 News.
Williams Lumber Supply was founded in 1905 by Douglass Williams, Sr., the company’s website says.
“Today, the drying and manufacturing of southern yellow pine and hardwood lumber continues to be a vital contributor of business for Williams Lumber Supply with the majority sold to the pressure treating industry and furniture manufactures. Joe credits the success and longevity of the company to its many exceptional employees and its loyal customer base. Williams Lumber Supply is proud to be serving Brookneal and the surrounding counties to build and improve homes, businesses and farms.”
